Walrus Writings: 2007 Begins With a Bang!
blog post
Hey Kids,
On behalf of the group, I hope that you've all enjoyed the holidays and are looking forward to a healthy and prosperous New Year!
January ushered in some new twists about which we're happy to report.
On January 19th, John Negron and Jorge Caraballo appeared on BronxNet's hour-long variety call-in program "Open" and performed the songs "Two Of Us" and "If I Fell." Regretably, due to logistics the entire band was not able to perform all together. However, it was a treat to showcase Rubber Soul "Lite" to Bronxites via Bronx Cablevision's community-based station.
The following evening was the long-awaited return engagement at The Bayou Restaurant in Mount Vernon. It was a wonderful performance as the Saturday night crowd was definitely in the mood for Fab Four fare in addition to their generous helpings of award-winning Cajun cuisine.
Look for the band to return to The Starving Artist on City Island in the Bronx on April 21st as well as The Bayou in the spring. If anything else happens to come along, we'll be sure to let you know.
BTW, once we get a handle on how to upload video files to YouTube, we'll send you links to some choice cuts from our City Island shows as well as an except from the BronxNet telecast.
Until then... Goo-goo-gah-joob!
