No comments on this blog??? Good heavens. These two fellows are among the finest musicians I have heard in the last 35 years . . . and I have heard so very many. Having "grown up" with the Kottke, Peter Lang, Fahey tradition in my very late teens in the early 70's, and shortly thereafter, living in Hawaii, being fortunate to frequent the "Territorial Tavern" on Oahu, listen to the very young puppies, Keola and Kapono Beamer play slack key like something I had never heard before (there followed an entire movement). Well these fellows have fused so many threads of so many great musics all together. I am actually floored. I keep playing the song "upbringing" which is of course so very easy love, in its pure simplicity or is it its subtle complexity or is it . . .? Wow. I am spreading the word.
