Rolling Thunder was formed by Steve and George, who wrote many of the songs for Rolling Thunder while with the rock band School on Sunday. When the musical direction of School on Sunday changed, they united with Dan from Demonsryche who fronted the band, and recruited Mike from Malstrom as the drummer and together recorded the band's first material. Laura from Demonsryche became the drummer in 2005, but in 2006 In 2007, Jason joined the band to become the drummer, replacing Mike.
