Good news in RD world. We will be in the recording studio in DEC/JAN to get some of our new songs recorded. We are low on cash so we will have to settle for about 3 or 4 songs for now even though we have about 9 new ones. It will be hard to choose which ones to record because we are so proud of each of the new ones. Keep checking in with us to get all the latest RD news!

If you havent already heard, Rocky Denis is more than just the deformed boy in the 1985 movie The Mask. Rocky Denis, the kid with a heart of gold, shares him name with a punk bank that is becoming one of the biggest epidemics to hit the screemo? scene in what seems to be forever. Although not yet signed they have overcome many obstacles, struggled, and fought their way to be where they are at today.
In the summer of 2000 the boys practiced under the name No Style in a less than ideal warehouse turned practice studio? It wasnt until the drummer of No Style quit, and Frank auditioned, that everything fell into place. With the end of No Style came the beginning of Rocky Denis.
After only six months of writing and practicing new material, Rocky Denis had their first show at the Knights of Columbus in Arlington Heights. Soon thereafter, the band was contacted by a booking company that was interested in having the boys compete in a battle of the bands.? In exchange for selling tickets, the company would provide a couple of hours of recording time. Although Rocky Denis lost the battle of the bands, they reached their numbers in ticket sales, which was how they were able to record their first demo.
In the summer of 2002, Rocky Denis was asked to play at the Trojan Blast at Triton College. The guy throwing the show, Manny Ruiz, was a kid that had attended high school with a few of the members of Rocky Denis. RD was asked to perform last minute, and had to play an extra long set because one of the other bands that was booked didnt show up. Rocky Denis told Manny that he owed them one,? while never in a million years suspecting that Manny would turn out to be their manager.
Summer 2003. Warped Tour. The biggest tour of the year, and Rocky Denis was asked to play. As if playing at Warped wasnt already an honor in itself, the guys were introuduced to a man that they had grown up listening to and admiringDan Precision. Rocky Denis handed their CD over to Dan, and in turn, Dan told them he had a recording studio. He assured the boys that he would listen to their CD, and RD thanked him graciously.
Now fast forward to Winter 2003. Aaron and Will went to a show at the Metro, and as if fate stepped in, they ran into Dan Precision! Dan remembered them, and said that he had listened to and liked their demo. Dan gave them his number and told them that when they were ready to record to give him a call.
Meanwhile, Rocky Denis kept busy with a ton of small shows. They refined their sound, and wrote 6 new songs. In the summer of 2004, Rocky Denis was confident enough make that phone call to Dan.
The recording process was insane, but they finished in five days, and the result was impressive. After the summer of 2004, Rocky Denis bought a van so that they could hit the road and start expanding themselves.
This brings us to where Rocky Denis is today. The guys spend all of their time writing music, practicing, playing, setting up small tours, trying to spread their name, and making a ton of great friends along the way.

Bands Rocky Denis shared the stage with: Taking Back Sunday, Much the Same, The Tossers, Digger, Shooting Blanks, Bowling for Soup, Break The Silence, October Fall,
