NKT is a fusion of neuroscience, functional anatomy and motor control theory. What that means is it uses specific methods to help identify muscle imbalances, then helps you bring your muscle firing back into balance, using specific treatments and corrective exercise techniques. Sullivan tests your muscles in different ways to essentially see which ones are not turning on when they're supposed to. The testing website is by using light resistance against specific muscles moving in different ranges of motion. The test is more neurologically based than strength-based, however. I was surprised that when resisting pressure in one specific direction, my glutes/hip muscles sort of gave up and were weaker than the other directions. Sullivan saw that as a muscle that was inhibited and not working, for some reason (previous injuries, movement habits).
