Argentina is the birthplace of a Christian rock band that has brought vibrant, joy-filled music to both young and old listeners throughout Latin America. Mixing ska, soul and reggae, these musicians were the pioneers of a unique style in their home country. The group's name is Rescate, meaning Rescue. Beginning in the early 1990s, the group Rescate has enjoyed 12 years of successful music ministry. Over and over, these young men have demonstrated their musical skills, playing rock music with remarkable energy and commitment. Their desire is to reach young people for Christ through the medium of music, a language that draws young people to listen, understand and apply spiritual truths. Over the past two years, Rescate has visited more than 60 cities in more than 10 countries of North America, reaching an audience of more than 500,000 people. Their recording career began in 1992, with the album "Puentes para madurar," or "Bridges to Maturity." This project demonstrated the group's spiritual commitment and popularity. In 1994, they released "Remix No Religion." This album, together with "Bridges to Maturity," showed the group's desire to use music to evangelize the young people of their own country. Their fourth project, released in 1997, "The Hair in the Milk," was recorded with a different goal in mind. This album broadened the group's appeal to a wider audience and opened the door to a new market, breaking down barriers with a crossover product that was not labeled as "religious." Their next album, "It's Not a Question of Luck," recorded in 2000, is full of poetry and is very Latin. This album provided the group's expansion beyond the borders of its native Argentina, achieving a resounding success and growing popularity throughout Latin America. Well-known Christian leaders and singers have invited Rescate to participate in numerous events, allowing the group to reach thousands of young people throughout the continent. The group Rescate recently took a new direction, signing a book contract with Editorial Vida. Group members will communicate their message in a book, "Hasta Lo Ultimo de la Tierra" (Until the Ends of the Earth). The book will take readers on not only a tour of the cities visited during the group's concert tours, but also will review the most spiritually edifying experiences of their ministry. "Quitamancha" or "Stain Remover," the newest musical release from Rescate, is an entertaining and contemporary project. Under the artistic direction of Jan Blas Caballero, winner of the Grammy Award for producer of the best Latin Hip Hop recording of 2001, "Quitamancha" features a fusion of rhythmic styles ranging from reggae, ska and Latin dance to the energetic rock style for which they are best known. Guests artists includes such distinguished musicians as Abraham Laboriel. The album also features guest appearances from well-known singers such as Mark Mohr, lead singer for Christafari, on the song "No More," and Guillermo Novelli, singer with the well-known pop group "La Mosca," who sang on the remix version of "Amores Como Vos" (Loves Like You). The next CDs "Una raza contra el viento" and "Buscando Lio" where both gold certificated from the labels within short time.
