Rendered was formed in September 2005. Mitch Smith and Chris Taulborg have been playing together since high school. In 2003 they started playing with Judd Eder, and soon after the three vowed to create the greatest rock band of all time. In the summer of 2005 James Brinker stopped playing with his band Sweet Afton and joined the group and it became the rock powerhouse it is today.
