Some of you may know who I am
Hopefully, though, some of you coming here don't know me and stumbled upon this.

Anyway, this is my little hole in the wall of the internet where I put up some of my work. I don't have a whole lot of time to do it, so there is not much. I've only put a little bit of it up here anyway. I love playing music and I've taught myself all I know on the guitar. That's why it's not incredibly good or complex, but I believe that to be good music doesnt have to be complex. It certainly helps, and I'm still learning. I'm not going to put a lot about me up here but I'm almost 17 and at least to me I think I've been through a lot. Not like losing a parent or anything quite like that...but lets just say I tend to examine everything to the point of over-examination and so it probably feels like I've been through a lot more. I'm sorry for rambling, but thanks for stopping here even if it was by accident. I really appreciate feedback too...

Blue Box

Okay, wow.

I just typed out a whole entry and hit post and it didn't really work so I hit back, and it was gone.

I recorded/added a new song today, called "Blue Box". I happen to like a lot. The other day I was cleaning my room and came across a box. It brought back a flood of memories from earlier this year, and this song basicallly just comes from that. It's relatively simple, but I'm really happy with it. During the instrumental part, though, I want to add either some more music or more lyrics or both, but I also really wanted to get a recording of this up and out there, so I did this. New song

I just added the song "She Knows" which is one that I wrote and recorded a long time ago. I had a friend that recently found out about it and wanted to hear it so I re-recorded a better version and I was happy enough with it to put it up. I think it's one of my best but it's kind of embarassingly personal, I had to change some lyrics because originally it wasn't written to ever be shared. But things change...you know?

The third Acoustic

Hey so I've been working on 'Waiting Up on You' but so far I just really don't like my voice on it. I also got some wonderful vocal comments and that has helped me out. By helped me out I mean made me work harder at it because the comment was actually pretty rude. But anyway, for now I decided to re-record my version of Acoustic #3 by The Goo Goo Dolls and put that up there. Thanks for listening.

Good Riddance

Today I got the same recording/editing software on my computer that A New Distraction uses on Bryson's computer so...in theory things will sound better. I also used Sean's microphone instead of my very low quality one designed for internet chat. So far I recorded Green Day's Good Riddance and posted it up on the site. I also have gotten through the instrumental for my new song "Waiting Up On You". By new I mean new to PureVolume, I've had this song written/finished for a long time...it's kind of a downer song but it means a lot to me, or it used to anyway. I'll try and get the vocals recorded and get it all up on the site later today, since there is not much for me to do today besides work later. Apparently "non-Pro" PureVolume users can only upload four songs at a time, so that means I took out my cover of "Sympathy" by The Goo Goo Dolls (it was a wrench) to put "Good Riddance" up. I'm going to have to pick off another song too if I want to put up "Waiting Up On You", but I do...the idea is to get my actual stuff up here, right? That's all for now...

I've got a new distraction

hey all, well I've started advertising this a little bit more. Still don't want too much focus on it, I don't know...at least from people I know. Not totally sure why. But anyway Sean, Bryson, and I have sort of officially started the band. We're calling it A New Distraction and it's up on PureVolume and MySpace. We finished up a song I wrote called What's Left Over. I'm pretty happy with it except I wish we could just record it better. And the usual I wish I could sing. Other than that, life's going pretty well. Until next time...
