I dont get what everybody thinks is so great about Peter Jackson's version of King Kong. it was entertaining no doubt, and the battle with the t-rex was sweet as hell, but the only other credit to it was great acting. but even that couldnt save from how cheesy or badly done the rest of the movie was. im sorry Peter, but having a set, props, and costumes straight of the 20's is not enough to convince me the characters are actually LIVING in the 20's if they use modern day slang in nearly every line. on that same note, why the hell was Adrien Brody's character stunt driving in a Ford Model-T? upon watching the very first high-speed 180 degree spin, i was 99 ertain the axle should have snapped (or at least the tire bending some of the spokes). but he continued to pull off amazing high speed turns and vehicle-dodging techniques The Fast and the Furious-style. total lack of period.
my final bitching point (in this entry) was the staring. i got so goddamn tired of watching Naomi Watts and the ape staring at each other incessantly. im willing to put a bet that if you cut out every second of the two eyeing each other down out of the movie, it would hit 2 1/2 hours or less. any takers? but seriously, within the staring problem lies Peter Jackson's inability to end a movie properly by dragging it out much longer that it should be. how many times did the lovebirds share a (5-minute) staring moment on the Empire State Building? 3? 4?
ok, im done with that. i gave it a 4.5 out of 10.

Thanks to everybody that came and rocked out with us Friday! This was arguably one of the best shows we have ever played, and it was certainly one of the most fun. If you didn't catch Superstring or Smile and Nod, they rocked the house down too.
For the moment, we're looking into booking much more shows in the near future. In the meantime, stay cool and sweet like rotting meat... or something...
BIG METAL HANDS!!!
