ABOUT RAIZ:

Colombian heavy metal act Raiz started playing live in the late '90s, having the opportunity to perform in front of a major audience while participating in Rock al Parque, a popular Latin rock festival.

RAIZ , one of the most important metal/alternative bands in South America, has been working endlessly since 1997 and nowadays it counts with a wide fan base along all the American Continent. In 2004 RAIZ releases its debut album "Volver a (1)" (Back to one), which has been classified by their fans, the media and the specialized critics (including Rolling Stone Magazine) as one of the most important steps in the evolution of the Latin-American modern Metal. With BETA, the second album the band finally landed a trademark sound within a fine and delicate mixture between alternative rock and metal. RAIZ, una de las bandas ms importantes de metal de latinoamrica, ha venido trabajando incansablemente desde 1997 y en la actualidad cuenta con una slida base de fans alrededor de Amrica y Europa. En 2004 RAIZ lanza su lbum debut "Volver a (1)" el cual ha sido calificado por los fans, los medios y la crtica especializada (inlcuyendo la revista Rolling Stone) como uno de los pasos ms importantes en la evolucin del metal en Amrica Latina. Una de las cosas que ms llaman la atencin de RAIZ es la puesta en escena, llena de energa, poder y emotividad. Durante este tiempo, RAIZ ha tenido bastante acogida y su la msica ha sido divulgada en varios medios y varias ciudades dentro y fuera de Colombia obteniendo comentarios y reseas de prensa bastante positivas. La banda tambin ha logrado difusin por medio de especiales de televisin y ha logrado estar presente en importantes convocatorias, concursos y festivales por la calidad de su trabajo, a lo largo de Colombia y el mundo (Much Music, Mtv, Rolling Stone, Shock, El Tiempo, entre otros... ) A lo largo de estos aos RAIZ ha compartido escenario con importantes bandas nacionales e internacionales como Deftones (USA), Hatebreed (USA), Agnostic Front (USA), Resorte (Mxico), A.N.I.M.A.L.(Argentina), Earth Crisis (USA), Muscaria (Ecuador),Green Lizard (Holanda)...Adems de esto la banda ha participado en varios proyectos compilatorios en Amrica y Europa en donde se destaca "Panic!!!", en el 2001 (2 canciones), "Proyecto Virus" en 2004 (1 cancin) y "Lph & Friends Metal Alternativo" (1 cancin), editado solo para Europa en Madrid por Zero Records (www.zerorecords.com), importante disquera del gnero en Espaa. El video de "No Siento", el cual es includo en su lbum "Volver a (1)", fu aceptado recientemente por MTV latinoamrica. RAIZ, adems acaba de ser nominado en dos categoras de los premios Shock (Mejor Banda de Metal del 2004 y Mejor Portada), estos premios son otorgados por la revista ms importante de actualidad juvenil en Colombia. MidiaCaos, un naciente sello independiente en Brasil, ha escogido a Raz como uno de sus bandas pioneras (www.midiacaos.com), despus de haber agotado el primer tiraje de copiasde su lbum debut en ese pas. RAIZ actualmente est vendiendo copias y sonando en emisoras en Venezuela, Chile, Brasil, Ecuador y prximamente en Mxico,Espaa y Argentina.
