November 9, 2005, 5:10 am
Ed: whos who in the band?
C: tha active members and still have the heart to carry on...are namely: me, charlz (bass), jan (guitar), crazy elmer (drum's), karri (voc's), actually we're a five piece fellaz but one of our guitar player is not active anymore and his name is JT da pornstar! if you know this guy watch out for him. hehehe
Ed: what are your major influences as a group, and your individual influences ( doesnt matter if its hc or not) ?
C: our influences are mostly hc bands to name few like madball, agnostic front, 25 ta life, SIOA, warzone and local pride shrapnel...definitely as a band we're more into hc stuff. Individually i think we have our own taste if comes to music...but for sure we listen to different kind of stuffs aside from hc.
Ed: who usually writes the music? and the lyrics? any themes that you guys usually tackle when writing a song?
C: usually i'm tha one wrote the lyrics but musically each of us contribute in making songs, so we made our materials with teamwork and dedication. We have different approach in terms of song writing but it always deal about reality anything as long as it's nonphixion.
Ed: do you think HC music is a vital part in your life? explain
C: yes, as a band we embrace hc for it is what we are no frills just the essence...for us hc is more than music it's a way of life.
Ed: name 5 non hardcore bands that you think are really good in the cebu scene.
C: 1. the ambassadors
2. urbandub
3. one man down
4. pipebomblandmines
5. twinkle dudu
Ed: what makes cebu hc scene different from all the other scenes in PI, besides the dialect.?
C: Actually there's no hc scene yet here in Cebu, hc/punk kids share the same boat as scenesters here in Cebu. The different is Cebu hc/punk scene is more intact and united compare to other scenes and we have the advantage in producing good music because of the low price studio recording and kick ass sound quality even if you're an underground band.
Ed: what are your future plans for the band? CD?
C: yah, we're going to release a cd ep under Rail Road Records an indie label from Sta. Rosa City Laguna. Hopefully we can release it within this year...
Ed: why did you choose to rehash shrapnel's "bonded by trust"?
C: we choose that song because of the lyrics...and it really represent the HC spirit friendship, loyalty, and commitment = bonded by trust.
Ed: what is DMS for you guys?
C: Demonstrate My Stylesxe, non sxe, punk,hc,skankers, metal, hiphop, reggae, emo can build a better scene it's just a matter of respect. Prisoners of Society
Ed: Do you think punk bands that have gained national fame still has punk credibility?
C: yah, there are punk bands gained national fame but they look back where they come from. They put up a label and help underground punk bands producing records...
Ed: what do you think about concert promoters finding sponsors for shows nowadays?
C: there's no problem with that it's their way of putting up a show...as far as i know hc/punk shows here in cebu stand by it's own feet no sponsors, promoters and all other bullshit sucka's we can do our own thing.
Ed: As we all know, emo is from hc, but why is there a clash between emo and hc in the cebu scene?
C: how come there's a clash i haven't seen fistfight yet? (hehehe)
Ed: what would you guys rather do, play hardcore music for life or do hardcore porn videos for a living?
C: we rather play hardcore music for life instead of porn videos. Playing hc music is fun and we really love to share it to the kids who pay respect...about porn videos JT has the answer for that question. hehehehe
Ed: any tours coming up? shows? CDs?
C: still looking forward for that coz we don't have sufficient budget for tours. Maybe we can put up a show within this month just watch for it...our cd ep will be out soon under Rail Road Records. Grab a copy support DIY!!!
Edwin! thanks for the interview...to all the hc/punk kids outthere who's never get tired in supporting the scene DIY for real!!! adios...
