Ladies and gentlemen, skaters and emo kids... Quaint!!
Basic
We are Quaint, and thats the bottom line. We are three hetrosexual friends from Covina who somehow came together because our heads bobbed and our feet tapped to the same music. We love entertaining and playing music for people. To describe our style, I would probly say pop-punk, alternative, and just plain rock. We have been compared to blink-182 numerous times, yet im sure we'd be more popular if we actually did sound like blink-182. When it comes to music, the thing we love most is organized stops, and you'll hear a lot of those if you listen to our music religiously. That is the basic rundown of our band.
History
The band started in 2004, around March or April. The name Quaint came from a book, for which was randomly chosed from a page. The name sounded different and cool so it stuck. Mike wrote the song Back to Me, which was their 1st song, in a car trip to LA. When Josh was showed the song, he really liked it. Since he had made somthing that someone actually liked, Mike was inspired to keep making more music. Eventually they had enough songs down (and a cover) to decide to go into a studio. Slight mistake. Quaint sucked much lemon balls back when they went into the studio so the by product was crap. Crisp, clean, quality crap. But Quaint did not walk away empty handed from this studio session, they learned a lot about music recording and they knew what to do next time they had the opportunity.
Demo 1
1. Atticus
2. Creep
3. Lemon Balls
4. Back to Me
5. Why
6. What
In 2005, Quaint used their own mini studio they bought to record their 1st presentable (yah right) demo. They recorded 6 songs, burned them onto CD's, sharpied on their name, and sold them for 4 dollars. There was a complication with the burning however. Larrys burning device burned all the songs in alphabetical order, but Mike wrote the track list as shown above. Nobody really knew any of their songs anyways so it wasnt a huge deal. The problem was quickly fixed and the CD's were burned with the correct track list. This helped get their music out and they made a nice profit which they were able to buy a high quality microphone with.
Fist Show/ Battle of the Bands
On October 15th, 2005, Quiant played their 1st show at the drummer, Josh's, house. Their semi supportive friends came and Joshes family was there. Most really didnt enjoy the show at all but what kind of friends would they have been if they told us the truth? Bad friends. Well Quaint knew it wasnt a GREAT show but they continued on, confident not in their musical preformance, but confidnet in their musical compositions. They knew their music was catchy to some extent and had some potential with it. They signed up for their schools battle of the bands. They placed 2nd, which wasnt too shabby, considering they lost to their local semi-well established hardcore band, who already had their fanbase and their share of shows and experience. So Quaint was content and went on to do some more recordings, including the Snowmas demo.
The Future....?
In the future, Quaint will have the power to see through girls clothing and have the power to be famous with the snap of their fingers. Too bad the future isnt now huh,,,=/. Well aside from that, what else does the future hold for Quaint??? Well Quaints next demo (which you wont be forced to buy, it will be put up online) will be coming out soon. Trust me, it will be worth it. The quality of recording and quality of music has increased dramatically since their 1st demo. Thank you for supporting Quiant if you have, and if you havent, jump on the bandwagon!
