My bands name is Poverty-Stricken. We consist of three members, Justin Menard on bass, Jack Messer on drums, and me, Taylor Keller, on lead guitar and vocals. We have a somewhat unusual band name, we came up with our name due to the fact that when we were just kids, with not much money, and not much equipment, so thus we were poverty struck, and so the name stuck. Over the last three years we have aquired speakers here and there, and a PA head, but it's not nearly enough. Our musical career is to the recording point, and we havn't the equipment, nor the money to do it. We feel that our music has what it takes to be liked by the masses, and we truely believe in what we write. This is why we wish for your support and thank you for coming to this page.

WIthout a Hitch

well yesterday was our first show of the summer in cedarville. Not one of our better performances but we still rocked out. The other bands were sweet ass, many thanks to Oddfellow for inviting us to play. There was a great turnout and the afterparty was nice, your house is the shit Odin. PRO ONCE AGAIN!

Hello all you crazy PS fans. Just thought i'd let you know that we once again have a pro account! woohoo! We have tons of new show updates and we will soon have a ton of new songs coming to purevolume. we never did end up going to the recording studio because we just figured fuck it we can do it ourselves. we have a brand new practice space where we spend our days hiding from the sun. we are set up in Justin's Uncles garage where we have all of our sound equiptment, a couch and I, Jack, found by the road, a fridge, stereo system, a fan that runs 24/7, a mini-stage, and we have all of the windows covered so none of the sun monsters rays can get in. well im out of here. more updates soon.

PS Hits the Studio!

Greetings friends and foes! JFH here to tell you that we are hitting the studio on Saturday May 6th! We are going to lay down 4 Tracks that day. We might just make a little 4 track demo or go back the following weekend to get a couple more. That means new CD quality songs for the PureVolume site! Woohoo! ...i know you dont really care. But anyways thats all we have to look forward to. Look for the upcoming tracks! oh yea.. Our newest song "Prostrate" is up on the site. The recording is shitty quality just like the others but there will be a better one! peace out.

PS - Who the fuck lets a 55 year old Economics teacher and the laptop lady judge a talent show?

All kinds of sweet shit.

Well how do i start this bitch.. Yesterday was are first practice with are new lead player. Things we're going good he did really really good for the first practice we tweaked the shit out of are new song, and now it sounds dope as fuck. It wasnt to long of a practice because i was in a pissy mood from having to watch wax house 3 times in a row at school. [not kidding] and i called my uncle for a ride and instead my bitch mom came. well i'm getting off the subject. Ian did Really Good for his first practice he just needs to loosen around us it was first practice next will rock. Anyways im sick of the bilboard being 4 miles long so i'm gonna post the new song writting by taylor up in this bitch also.

Blub BLub BLUb BLUB (love jacks editing skillz)

It's T Khrist. Yea, wow it's been awhile, but PxSx is doing well....our show went great, there was a lot of setting up problems, but we delt with them. I broke a string, ~tear~, but it was nothing. People liked us, and we loved the great turnout we got. We finished out new song, i'm not sure if we have a title yet, umm, yea, but we'll have it on here hopefully next practice. It's a catchy one. Alright well peace out. (Jizack here..I am here to edit this blog because it seems that Taylor is a bit of a fool. He seems to have placed some information some where else besides his brain. Our new song does in fact have a title. It is called "Prostrate" it means to overcome. and it has no relation to the word "Prostate" except that they are spelled almost the same. Taylor was right though, the show had a pretty good turnout. We played with one of my favorite local bands, Insipid Britality whose lead singer is curently in jail for breaking into a church. F-E-L-O-N-Y. anyways, yes we are looking to record a few tracks as soon as we are done with a the songs we are still writing. If Taylor can make it to practice on Tuesday we should have the song up on the site later that night. so look out for it. Also, if you're band is based in Michigan and you are playing anywhere up north send us an email if you'd like to play a show with us. well i guess that concludes this blog entry. look out for more songs coming soon.! -Jizack .Fucking.
