Portman plays technical deathcore and hails from Johnston County, NC. Portman has been around since 2006 and was founded by guitarist Chuc Osegueda. The genre and overall style has changed coming into their later years. A powerful act and an amazing lineup has shown that this is Portman's strongest. Picking up drummer Robert Meikle in early 2007 (All Guns Loaded), Portman recorded a two song demo that included the songs "Ducttape Between Your Toes", and "They Called Her Kirby". Though this did not do Portman justice as far as their full potential is, it did become popular locally. Months following, Portman parted ways and decided to call it quits.

Late 2008, in attempt to bring themselves back into the scene, Portman reunited and added vocalist Brandon Rickner (All Guns Loaded) to Portman. Starting early 2009, Portman acquired previous Portman vocalist Patrick Lyon and later guitarist Nash Daniels (All Guns Loaded). Portman is rewriting their previous 2 track demo along with new material. They are set to record sometime in the near future and make their way to the top.
