Meet Japans hippest import! POLYSICS! POLYSICS have developed a following with trendsetters in Japan, UK and Europe. Noted for their wild costumes and pulsing energetic live shows, they perform technicolor pogo punk in a variety of languages including Japanese, English and their very own space language.
Officially, the band was formed in 1997 in Tokyo, Japan when young Hayashi, inspired by Devo, began making music under the name POLYSICS. Over time, Hayashi recruited other young musicians - Kayo, Fumi and Yano to join POLYSICS. Their added influences brought inspiration and a fresh force to the band. POLYSICS simply wanted to create new music with inflectional electronic sound that sticks and repeats itself in ones head along with distorted guitar noise.
Since the late 1990s POLYSICS have lead the way for pop punk hipsters in their native Japan while building a following in other countries. Their thrashing, riotous shows began to sell-out venues in Japan. Inspired by audience response, POLYSICS signed to an independent record label, UK PROJECT, in 1999. They released 1st P that year and, due to demand, quickly followed it with A.D.S.R.M! In 2000, Ki/oon Records / Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc. came calling. POLYSICS received a great deal of support from the label and released NEU that same year embarking on an extensive tour. Several successful releases followed yearly and the independent spirit of POLYSICS music continued to attract new fans around the world. Highlights for the band include performing with Nick Beggs of Kajagoogoo, touring the United States three times and meeting with their heroes Devo.

Last show for this tour. Here we are in London. The place is packed!! Will do a show good!!
Right now I have this petit boom of using the straight stand up microphone stand. Will use it today also.
Yes, a good shape, I like this!! Plus, the London crowd's HOT!! Everyone's singing along!!
During I My Me Mine, the audience sang along the recorder verse. Sounded like a football cheer!! Wow NEAT!! But there we lots of people diving, so it wasnt such a happy atmosphere on stage, rather pretty tense.
But thanks to the HOT audiences and the place feeling boiling steaming hot, this show certainly did wonderfully round off the tour.
On this tour, we played various size venues. From super tiny ones to stadiums holding 13000 people. We were able to meet and be friends with a lot of people too...staff members, audiences. A very good experience. Plus reminded me of my original purpose. I want to take this feeling back home with me and show it on stage!!!!
OK!!!!! Next we play AX( venue in Shibuya Japan)!!!! I AM EXCITED!!!! WILL ROCK!!!!

Here we are at the Birmingham Barfly. On our previous tour, the show here was not to my satisfactory. Thinking...if we dont do good today, the previous experiences will be come to nothing...I headed out to play.
Yesterdays show with the best show we did with the Kaiser Chiefs and todays show was perfect as our headliner. Our playing, our tension, everything fit well. Finally in Birmingham, we were able to be ourselves. Great!!

We play at Millennium Square, an open air stage set up in the middle of the city!!
Wow the town seems very excited, looks like a festival is going on! Well of course, its Kaiser Chiefs hometown!! Amazing. Today is our last performance with them. I am going to enjoy every moment!! OK, like The Whos Live at Leeds here comes POLYSICS Live at Leeds!!
Today was a best show with Kaiser Chiefs. We played well, it was fun. The audiences was terrific too.
This morning my beloved grandmother passed away...I sang all my heart out so that she can hear me in heaven. I hope she heard.
Thank you Kaiser Chiefs for this great opportunity.
And, I also would like to thank their manager, the stage director, tour roadies, the catering staff, and everyone working at the tour for being so nice to Polysics. Ricky, Nick, Andrew, Peanuts and Simon, I am very grateful for everything. Till we meet again!!
