Plus Suffix is a two-piece acoustic band born from the womb of music-laden Western NY. From its humble beginnings in the spring of 2002, Plus Suffix has undergone many changes and fought many struggles. The biggest struggle for Plus Suffix was when pianist, Dave Sullivan, moved from Rochester, NY to Richmond, VA in the fall of 2004. After 2 years, Plus Suffix seemed all but dead. But in March 2007, Dave and Jordan decided to give the band one final push, resulting in the recording of their 5 song EP 'We Always Take the Hard Way'. Soon after its recording, Dave moved back to Rochester, and the band is finally reunited and gearing up for bigger and better things. They are currently working on new material and are available for booking.
Musically, the band has been compared to Dashboard Confessional, Brand New, Something Corporate, and The Early November combined with the classic style of Bryan Adams, Tom Petty and the Counting Crows. While they don't aim for a specific music style, their main objective has always been to write music that people can connect to and feel a part of, regardless of age, race or gender.
They have a solid record of live performance, having played at various venues throughout western NY. Club promoters and private show bookings alike have responded with praise to the band for the clarity and precision with which they perform. Taking pride in this, the band is always looking for new ways to deliver to an ever expanding crowd, playing fan favorites and catchy originals. Their goal is to make an environment where everyone feels comfortable with the music and with each other. They are sincere musicians with a passion for bringing people together in song.
Don't miss out on the experience that is, Plus Suffix.
If you would like to book them to play a show with your band or in your town, send an email to Dave at ohnodaveoh@yahoo.com. Serious requests only, please.

Hey everyone,
Dave Oh here, just want to inform everyone of some changes in the Plus Suffix camp. We have posted a bunch of live cover songs on you tube, so head on over there and search for 'plus suffix' and check them out! Also, we have some studio demos from our time spent in the studio over the past few months, though these are going to be really hard to come by anytime soon. The main reason being.....
I have decided to take a break or hiatus as they call it from the music world. Now this doesn't mean that Plus Suffix is over or that we won't be back, but for now, we won't be doing anything. I have decided to focus my attention on other aspects of live and its something I need to do. I will still be playing my piano and guitar and writing, but just not necessarily for the band or in any kind of organized setting. I know this blog is pretty boring and probably doesn't make too much sense so far, but I've been awake for 50 of the last 60 hours and I've got about 12 more to go before my next 3 hour nap. It's been a rough week. Not to mention I've been real sick for the past couple weeks. But anyway, I just want to let everyone know that I love the support that we've gotten from all our friends and fans alike and I am looking forward to the day where I can make this an active part of my life again. But until then, I bid thee all adieu. I love you guys.

Our first show was Saturday night and we want to thank everyone who showed up for it. We can't believe how much support we got for our first show, 120 people showed up for us! It definitely feels good to have that kind of support and to know that what we're doing is appreciated, so again thank you to everyone who showed up. We had alot of fun and we hope you all did too. We're working on putting together some new shows in the future with our friends the Nearby, who we have to thank for coming out and supporting us. A special thanks to Jeremy for letting Nico use his bass amp for the Victoria Projects set. We also want to thank the other bands who played with us for letting us represent the Rochester scene with them. We'd also like to thank Jam Solid for selecting us to play this show, and we'd like to thank the Brew Haus for letting us use their venue. Hopefully we'll get to play more shows with them in the future. I also want to thank Lauren for coming up and doing an amazing job on vocals for Thunderstorms and Quiet Nights. Everyone was amazing and we hope to see you all in the future!

So it took us 5 years, but we finally made our EP, ha. It's been a great weekend and we're super excited about how it came out. After a year long break we got back together about a week ago and we're able to come together and make this finally happen. It's just a relief to see our work finally pay off. Today I worked on putting the videos we took into a short movie, and that came out alright too considering I have no video editing experience and we didn't put any focus on doing videos this weekend. But hopefully everyone will enjoy it and not take it seriously, ha. But it will be on the purchased copies of the EP, so that'll be one of the little perks of that.
