Just wanted to pen a quick note informing you all of what the band has been up to these past few weeks. Actually that which has past and that which lies on the horizon. First off I wanted to thank everyone for their understanding and support regarding the name change. Having walked up on stage a number of times in the last few weeks only to forgetfully introduce the band as Pilate, I can appreciate that the change takes some getting used to.
We recently just returned from a string of East Coast shows, kicking off the academic year of universities such as Dalhousie, Mount Allison, UNB, and St. Mary's. A great pleasure it was to be on the East Coast during the fall, not to mention getting to share the stage with the likes of 'Cuff the Duke' and some new friends in 'The Uncut. My slow ascension into the world of technology included taking a digital camera out on the road. You will undoubtedly see some of these pictures on the website very soon.
Speaking of the website, it will undergo a major overhaul in the very near future. There is a real commitment from the band to provide more content, therein giving everyone a reason to return. There are some really exciting changes and additions including unique podcasts, rare MP's, and some really cool behind the scenes videos (e.g. Behind the Ambulance Video). The site will also benefit from the much appreciated efforts of one Bob Gundu, who has supplied us with a plethora or awesome photos, both new and old.
As many of you probably know the album comes out in the US this fall under the new name, 'Into the West'... Now although a part of me will miss the name 'Sell Control for Life's Speed' I shant miss explaining it to people. I just recently saw the artwork for this release and it looks amazing! Touring plans are forthcoming, yet needless to say we are all excited about the prospect of playing throughout the United States.
I believe right now we are playing two new songs in the live show. I really hope we can increase that before we set out on a US tour. Tis a nice thing to be able to play new music for people. I could probably keep rambling on now about how I bought a new guitar, or about how Ruby bought a new bass, but I reckon I've run outta stuff to say. I think I agreed to get involved in a journal of some sort, when the new web site unveils. It's just the name though... "Journal" - reminds me of Adrian Mole or something. I'll get over it.
Take care of yourselves...
