August 26-27, 2006- "Everything" video shoot

Posted August 27, 2006

If you are wondering why we decided to do the video shoot for "Everything" in Goodland, KS (actually 9 miles West) because its actually pretty close to where Pillar first started. The band started in Hays, KS and we really wanted to capture the look and feel of Pillar's origins. We also have lots of family and friends who helped make this video possible. So when you see this video remember that Rob is from Plainville, KS; Kalel's family lives in Larned, KS; and the band started in Hays, KS. We knew early on this video was destined to be great. The weather channel was showing that is was supposed to storm and rain in western Kansas all weekend which would have really changed the outcome of our shoot. On our way to the "farm" early Saturday morning it was really raining and once it stopped a thick fog was blocking the Kansas scenery we were hoping to capture on film. Come 10 AM the flog lifted and it ended up a beautiful day. The sun came out, but it never really got hot. When we wrapped up filming around 11 PM the raining started coming down again. I think somebody was looking out for us.

We want to especially thank the Duell's for opening their homes to us and the crew. Dan Duell went above and beyond the call of duty- Thank you. Special thanks to all the fans who came from all over Kansas and Colorado to be apart of this video shoot. I also want to thank my little brother Chris for coming out and helping. Thanks bro. I don't really want to give away the plot of the video. All I can say is that involved an old antique tractor, '58 Ford truck, and a raised red-reck flat bed truck. Now its off to the editing room. We have no idea when the video will be finished and will not even try to guess. Now we are just going to take it easy until "The Reckoning" releases October 3rd and Rob and his wife has their baby (due early October). Keep us in your prayers during this exciting time. -Kalel
