Since its inception Pierce has sought to bring excitement and passion to student worship. Their sound is a hybrid of musical styles influenced by country, rock and pop music. Since 1999 Pierce has performed over 600 dates, has recorded 4 projects packed with original material, has sold over 11,000 copies of their various cds, and has had 6 worship songs published by Lifeway Christian Resources.Â They have played at churches, conferences, camps and Christian gatherings from California to Florida, Alaska to Maryland and Green Bay to Houston. They've also toured Europe 7 different times performing concerts and leading worshipÂ at churches, military bases, and retreat centers. Doug Pierce, growing up in a family of country musicians, began playing guitar and singing at age five. As a senior in high school he started leading worship for his church youth group and during college he began traveling regionally in the south. The "snow ball" effect took hold and soon Doug was traveling constantly. After a stint on the road with Al Denson and the Dawson McAllister Conferences, Doug went back out on his own and formed Pierce.
