*New Songs* -Pete Finney is a native of Athens, OH who began his career by performing at open
mics in the Athens area while attending Ohio University. At first, his songs
were mostly instrumentals, but he quickly began working on his skills as a
songwriter in order to better connect with audiences. Presently, he strives to
keep his songs strongly focused on the guitar but also to include aspects that
will allow others to relate with the songs.

When performing acoustically, his main guitar is one that he constructed with
his father. In addition to the guitar, Pete enjoys playing the mandolin which he
was inspired to play from listening to Chris Thile.
