PESTILENCIA

Pestilencia are basedin Los Angeles and their music is a mix of different musical genres, characterized for the opened minds of their members whom have taken psychodelic punk and rock as their principal influence making a new contagious sound with bizarre images simultaneously. La Pestilencia is more than a band, is a family sharing many good experiencies together, a unity looking for the same ideal. It was created vn Bogota, the capital city of Colombia and with their first album (Death, a compromise of everybody), they became an icon in their country. In Latin America they are known as one of the most important bands of the hardcore genre. Due to the radio exposure of their music as well as their participation in important shows such as Metallica opening (100.000 people) and festivals such as Rock al Parque (where theres around 200.000 spectators) the audience they wished to reach is still growing. The next three albums, (The New Adventures of la Pestilencia), and (Ballistic) have had better success, reaching with the last one the first place for two months in the most important rock station in Colombia (Radio Activa), Mexico, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Ecuador and significant positions in the rest of Latin America. Balistica was recorded in the Indigo Ranch in Malibu California, with the production of Richard Kaplan and the distribution of the label Mercury.

Now, signed by EMI Music, Pestilencia has a new album -Productos Desaparecidos- it will be released in early november.

Miami, 12 de septiembre del 2005.- La Pestilencia, la banda ms emblemtica del rock combativo de Colombia, regresa con "Productos Desaparecidos" su quinto lbum de estudio. Este disco, adems, marca el inicio de la relacin entre EMI Music Colombia y la agrupacin colombiana, que se reinventa dejando ver la madurez conseguida en
estos ltimos tres aos, desde que radican en la ciudad de Los Angeles, Estados Unidos.

"Productos Desaparecidos", producido por Mark Nidham (The Killers), contiene 14 nuevos temas y el primer sencillo promocional se dar a conocer prximamente. A travs de cada una de las canciones, la banda se transforma en la voz de todas las generaciones que se replantean el mundo en que viven. Su msica, va desde el punk hasta el hardcore, el heavy y la electrnica explorativa, convirtiendo su estilo en una referencia para el rock colombiano.

Despus de cuatro aos de un productivo silencio, La Pestilencia est de regreso estrenando nuevas canciones y en alianza con EMI Music. Su mensaje, con forma y fondo, explotar muy pronto en las radios de todo el pais.
