Pelle Carlberg
has been playing in bands since the Middle Ages. Most recently in Edson, a six-piece band with three splendid albums behind them. But for the moment he is concentrating on his solo project, but Edson might do a show when you least expect it.
His first album Everything Now! was released in 2006 by indie pop record label Twentyseven Records. It received much acclaim from publications such as Magnet Magazine, Pitchforkmedia, Stylus and a handful of others.
This July 3rd. 2007 he will be back with a brilliant new album. In a nutshell is full of his characteristic sharp, wry humor and heartfelt folk-pop. Carlberg writes equally catchy and intimate pop songs with an ease rarely seen since Belle & Sebastians early years.
The new songs are richer and more fun than his songs from his previous album, Everything Now! These are songs that will certainly have you singing and humming along through every single chorus. Even the ballads are so full of sweet harmonies that they too will also have you humming along. From the catchy I Love You, You Imbecile to the sugar filled Clever Girls and the somber Why Do Today What You Can Put Off Until Tomorrow? Pelle Carlberg covers all areas as to why Swedish pop reigns supreme.
