Paxtin formed in May 2006 and began wooing audiences with their evocative indie rock in November of the same year. Imagine a sparse, compact, from-the-basement version of Saddle Creek sensation Cursives sound, with a bit of old Joy Division pathos for good measure, and youre on the road to grasping Paxtins sound.
The trios music has a captivating, difficult-to-articulate intensity that distinguishes them from other bands that have a similar sound. Perhaps it is the unwavering determination to keep making music despite economic hardship. Or, maybe its the strong friendship and robust sense of humor that binds Paxtins members together on and offstage; in and out of the studio.
