Swing Dancing

I went to buy my cap and gown today. I'll be graduating from college in a few weeks. On the way, in the main University building, I had to meander through a group of about twelve couples swing dancing. We're talking ages fifteen through fifty. With loud swing music playing. I think that's ridiculous. Now I know what you're going to say, "everyone is entitled to define their own pursuit of life, liberty and happiness". Well, maybe we could include a little "except for swing dancing" clause in there. If you're swing dancing like a god, then okay, swing dance out in public. But these people were not dance gods. They shared a lurchy, awkward twirl that was everything but with the rhythm of the music and was strictly getting in my way. Please don't dance in my way at one in the afternoon on a Wednesday in a cafeteria.

In other news, I saw a cooking show the other night where a bunch of people had to design a fruit platter. One guy made it into sixteen separate cups each cup had something different: watermelon and tarragon, mango with chili paste and salt, etc. I've been trying to think of a cool way to make a logical song structure that was like fifteen little individual moments. All in your normal five-minute space. I can't come up with a thread that would tie them all together. I'm working on it. Maybe you'll hear it on the new album...
