Real rock with real muscle is in store for those who brave the music of Outlett. This hard rock act boasts the ideal name, since its energetic music delivers to the listener a positive release for pent up aggression and for the artist it is the perfect mode of self-expression. In fact, Outlett's musical philosophy is simple. Says Outlett's Chastity Ashley of the band's music, it's “pure positive aggression.” Looks like the band is getting some catharsis along with the fan. Pure synergy! “The music creates an essence in which all that we've gone through or experienced can just radiate at its optimum because of the vibe that music emits. It allows us to be completely uninhibited and true to ourselves.” Part of the positivity that Outlett provides is that with the conversion of negative energy into positive through the power of hard rock, tensions are broken and people can come together under a banner of music. “It's the one time in which all barriers are broken and all is limitless.” It's the ultimate freedom and the path to strengthening one's spirit.

Every Journey

The beauty of music as self-expression is that it is a rare, sublime transaction of creative energy that allows for all facets of a person's existence to converge. “It is as though every journey, emotion, feeling and desire that goes into our everyday lives can be described in detail through music.” Beyond words alone, music is where intellectual ideas and emotional communication merge in a brilliant flash of artistic expression. The spectrum of human thought and feeling collides in a supernova. That's the profound focus of Outlett and its songwriting. “With music, we feel overwhelmed, exuberant, pained, loved, empathetic, inspired, troubled, motivated and more.” There's more than entertainment at stake here. Outlett wants to reach others and change lives. “Truly the most inspiring thing would be when someone says that our music helped change his or her life. Because what we're trying to do is actually inspire others to stand up for themselves when it comes to their passions and dreams.”

The Artist at Work

Outlett's current single "Say Goodbye" is currently being aired on the world Famous KROQ in Los Angeles where the band headlined the KROQ Micro Brew Festival in Los Angeles. Outlett has opened for such national acts as Motley Crüe and Aerosmith and toured with Powerman 5000. The group gigged with the Warped Tour two years running. At Tom Morello's invitation, Chastity played her djembe with Alice In Chains and Cypress Hill at the CD release party for Morello's "The Nightwatchman." Outlett has been showered with numerous awards, including Rock Artist of the Year and Rock Artist of The Year in the Los Angeles Music Awards and many more. A best video prize was awarded by Unsigned Music Magazine in and other publications have lauded the band, as well. The group has also been touted as best live band in the Orange County Music Awards. The Independent Artist Registry declared Outlett one of the Best Unsigned bands in the nation. Music Connection Magazine also awarded Outlett as one of the Hot 100 Best Unsigned Bands in the nation two years in a row. Outlett nabbed a licensing deal with Ultrashort Media, as well. Work is wrapping up on Outlet's new CD, which is due out in January 2009. The group is currently working with A&R Select, the world's leading artist development firm, based out of Los Angeles.

“Outlett isn't just a promising indie band. With this group, the promise is fulfilled. The hard rock fan's cup overfloweth.” - A&R Select
