One Day Old, a relatively young band, started off as a typical amateurey little kiddy band when we were about 11. I don't think we could really be called a band back then.
Two or three years after we were much better equipped with drummer, bassist, guitarists and a singer, a far cry from the 5 singers previously. Even so, our music was still shoddy and it still had that blatent amateurey aura about it. Failing many attempts to come up with catchy tunes and what not, we resorted to playing covers which turned out quite well. This gave us the experience which we were desperately needing and although they were pretty basic songs, they were still a huge benefit to us.
Numerous covers and battle of the band victories later, we decided to re-ignite our music making passion. Our first song 'Fake' was the result of a slightly hurried week leading up to our first recording session. Not wanting to waste opportunity, we decided going to record a load of covers was a waste of time, money and .. time. Nevertheless, 'Fake' still stands today as a stable and solid track. We realised that having one song was far from sufficient and so it resulted in more practices and more music making goodness. Three songs were made as a result of our hard work and it had definitely paid off. We made our way to the recording studio in which we walked out with a cd containing one of the songs, 'Traffic'. The remaining two have yet to receive the full pampering recording experience but watch this space.
