On Distant Shores is an alternative, pop-punk band formed by Augustana College students in early 2009. Since their formation in February, the band has already performed numerous shows throughout the QCA and is always looking for more opportunities to share their music. The band is certainly not trying to remain quiet and unheard of. The band’s musicianship and their lively stage presence create an energy that can make an impact on any music fan.

Their first demo EP Between Then and Now has already been handed out at several earlier shows, but looks to make a return after being mastered at JJ Studios (Last Week Was Better, The Highway Scene) over the summer months. Also keep your ears open for a new single Late Nights to be appearing during performances as well. The band took a weekend up in Antioch, IL to record the single at Dalsha Studios (www.myspace.com/dalsha) and is excited to play it, along with several other new songs at shows this upcoming season.

Although they took the summer of 2009 off from playing shows, it allowed the band time to write new music, solidify their sound, and book some shows for the fall season. On Distant Shores guarantees a great show, so if you get a chance, go and check them out. They will definitely be excited to see you and will work extra hard just to make sure their performance is everything you wanted to see and hear.
