On Distant Shores is an alternative, pop-punk group formed by Augustana College students in early 2009. Since their formation in February, the band has performed numerous shows throughout the Quad Cities and Chicago and is always looking for more opportunities to share their music. The band is certainly not trying to remain quiet and unheard of. The band's musicianship and their lively stage presence create an energy that can catch the attention of any music fan.

Following a successful release of their first EP 'Between Then and Now' in September 2009, the band's next studio album 'Meant for the Sea' truly showcases the talents of the band and their musical progression over the past year. It's hard to imagine a group of students have such time to craft their sound and live show, but On Distant Shores has definitely succeeded in both regards.

2010 holds a lot of opportunities for the still-young group. The new CD, tour plans, and music video shoots await the band that continues to search for new venues, new friends, and new fans to share their music with. If you get a chance, go and check them out.
