Members: Catherine& Eric
Going back to their roots, Once A Pawn has returned to a two-piece band. Going back to a two-piece is just concentrating the sound that has been maturing more and more over the 5 years Catherine (drums/vocals) and Eric (guitar) have been making music together. OAP has been catching eyes not only for the unusual two piece make-up and drummer/vocalist combo, but because of the energetic and catchy indie/rock/punk/alternative mixed music being produced. Many are stunned by how full their music sounds with only two people behind it all. Along with the sounds of OAP, the sights of them live make will make you stop what you are doing and just watch. With so much passion in what they have composed and practiced, you can see it all come out in their action packed performances. With the release of their EP titled, This Way, in mid 05, they have been becoming more and more in the eye of the local music scene while collecting a very diverse crowd of fans. In the past year OAP has been featured on Lincolns local music website, Starcityscene.com, in Omahas publication, The Reader, Lincolns annual presentation of the best in local music, Scenefest, and their song Writing A Letter was just listed at 50 on top 100 on KRNU, the University of Nebraskas radio station. OAP has also been keeping busy in the studio recording their debut full-length album that is due out early spring of 07. Until then, a local compilation, A Situation: Like This, features an assortment of the best local acts in the Lincoln area, including a couple OAP songs. After the cd comes out they are looking to load up the van venture out, so keep an eye out, theyre coming.
