Home
Home isn't where we come from, but rather where we are. And for us as a band, it is the search for the sound of a feeling, a feeling that demands a place within the inner circle of our "four man collective" and pushes toward the light of a multifaceted surface. It is the search for songs that are more of a home than a potential hit; not warm and fuzzy accommodating songs, but rather demanding, sometimes brutish, sometimes painful tracks. The reward for our search is finding that which touches something deep inside each of us, discovering what is beloved and precious to us. But that which is beloved and precious does not come without a price, a price not to be paid with money, but with time. Time spent being just a step behind a feeling.
With an EP, the "Germanys Best New Comer Band" award, and the confidence inspired by those accomplishments, we signed with a small indie label in 2008 and recorded our first LP, "I am Tourist," which we produced and marketed ourselves. Unfortunately, we suffered a rude awakening and realized that in order to make it in the music world, you need more than just a willing heart â it takes time and a lot of work.
In 2009, shortly after the release of "I am Tourist,"a number of changes were made that had hung over the band like Damocles' sword for nearly a year. We parted ways with our bassist, our management, our booking agency, our label, and last, but not least, we parted ways with a number of people who had supported us over the long and short term. We found ourselves alone, having to start from the beginning -again.
Admitting to yourself that you do not have the strength to keep searching brings clarity, like hitting a reset button. The space around us began to concentrate and generate a new energy. And in the Fall of 2010 four new songs were recorded for our next album "Heimat" (Home). We were full of energy from the live the shows we'd recently played and because our search had finally paid off. We had rediscovered something; we had rediscovered ourselves! Our songs are our home and we want to invite everyone to share our home with us.
