ODD-MAN-OUT(MK)

Alternative / Alternative

Some messages need to be heard, some things speak directly to people in ways that computers cannot replicate, industry cannot engineer & text books cannot define…sometimes honesty is the only product worth selling.

In keeping with this philosophy “It all ends here…” has been recorded at their homes, produced by a friend, constructed & financed entirely by odd-man-out. The end product is an undiluted statement of the possibilities of the DIY work ethic. Of the victories of simplicity when creating music that carries such complexity in its dealings. “It all ends here…” strikes a rare balance of heart, musicianship and commentary. A challenging journey through western society, for all its tragedy & hope, set to a truly unique musical landscape.

Odd-man-out performed their first gig in 2002, unleashing their own brand of guitar-rock which has been described by one journalist as “Foo Fighters battling Hot Water Music in Fugazi’s basement”. To date, odd-man-out have performed many times up & down the country accumulating a strong following, press & live show to boot. In 2003 the oddities embarked on their debut tour alongside fellow underground luminaries Phema & Lupa. The tour marked a big turn for the band as their previous self-titled EP soldout in droves & odd-man-out’s profile rose to new heights. Resulting in the recording & broadcasting of an Evening Session for Radio 1, incredible EP & live reviews by major national press such as Rocksound & Big Cheese, as well as the staple of all DIY bands…the underground! Including stunning reviews in such high profile ‘zines as Fracture & Audiocratic. From the tour, odd-man-out were awarded ‘DIY band of the year’ by Go Magazine whilst they enjoyed airplay on XFM, sessions for the ‘Garden of Earthly Delights’ radio show, inclusion on many various compilation CDs, an appearance on Showcase TV & BBC2 coverage of their live performance at the Music4U Festival.

Odd-man-out have developed an independent mentality out of necessity for getting their music noticed through the dirge of 2nd, 3rd & 4th generation, supposedly alternative bands that clog the airwaves & destroy originality. And it’s paid off with tour supports for some of the greatest American & British underground bands around today including Aereogramme, Juno, Jetplane Landing, Winnebago Deal, This Girl, Retisonic (ex-Bluetip), Zu, Fletcher, Favez & Phema. Plus more mainstream acts such as Jimmy Eat World & The Promise Ring.

Right here is one of the most essential British underground bands in years..........do not miss out !
