They call themselves theFireFight, which in-and-of itself,
speaks volumes to their music, their mission, and their lives.
Combining dueling lead guitars, a hard-hitting bass line, pointed and
heart-felt lyrics, and a driving percussion section, theFireFight
will rock you to your limits and beyond. While the rock-and-roll aspect of theFireFight is clearly noted in their music, a message of life and it's many adventures are the lyrics of their debut album, entitled What's Left of
Broken Bridges and Burning Hearts.
The album tells a story of an individual who is about to start
his/her own journey through life, about to begin their own firefight. For life,
and its adventures, is the firefight that we all must endure. Through
interpretive metaphor, the album speaks of love and loss, hopelessness, and
mistakes made, all the while ending with a positive and influential message
that is designed to motivate and build up this listener, who is underway in
their own firefight of life.
With such a serious mission for their music,
theFireFight is not without its elements of humor and nostalgia.
Tracks titled "The Difference between Me and You is an 'I' and a 'Q'"
and "The Last Thing I Want to Do Is Hurt You, But It's Still On My List"
are blended with lyrics such as "starlight, star bright, the first star I see tonight."
While the serious and energetic personality of theFireFight cannot
be ignored, neither can it's members. From a broad
range of musical backgrounds, the five members of theFireFight
join forces to create their unique sound - a mixture of several genres of music
into one harmonious unit that is in-your-face, catchy, rhythmic and intelligent
- all at the same time.
Each of them experts in their own fields, theFireFight is powered by Joshua Lowe and Cory Watterson on guitars, Pat Bailey on bass, Matt Cook at drums, and Daniel Stenberg on the microphone. Combined, they are an epic and powerful legion of talent that is unified and thrown to the world in the formation of a musical superbody: theFireFight.
