NSR (Formerly New School Rock) formed in 2003. Actually, The band consisted of the three members: Richard, Brendon, and Doug. They played mostly Punk Rock. It was not until the 2003 Battle Of The Bands held at the University Of Lethbridge that Bridgette joined the band. New School Rock and Bridgette were only supposed to perform that one time for the competition and then be done after that. New School Rock with Bridgette WON!!! Yes, they won the Battle against 18 other bands. The Chemistry between members and the callaboration of music was right there in front of them so.....they decided to stick with it! And they've been a band ever since and growing and getting stonger everytime they play!
The New School Rock band name was created by Richard, the guitarist of the band. It was a great idea for a band name until that Movie with Jack Black came out, now everyone asks if we got our name from "that movie". haha We were surely here first but for promotional purposes shortened it to "NSR".

2003 Battle Of The Bands Winner Of Lethbridge, Alberta. Held at the Zoo Pub at the University Of Lethbridge. New School Rock won a $500.00 recording session at Tonesmith Studios to record one Radio Ready Demo.

The band NSR compares to no other. They are a young fresh band with tons of potential. Right out of Southern Alberta, they tend to bring Rock and Roll to a whole new level. This band totally sticks it out with their own diversity in what they perform. They play all types of music from jazz, to rock, to punk and to even some reggae! Bridgette, Richard, and Brendon are all family members and have been playing music ever since they could remember. And Shane, even though not part of the family, always finds a way of turning it up a notch with his ability to learn fast and his dedication towards putting on a great show! NSR is super tight, on stage and off. Their chemistry and collaboration soar, sky high!
NSR have tons of original material and are travelling to Vancouver, British Columbia (in July 2006) to record a full-length album at Greenhouse-Studios. They are very much looking forward to making this happen but in the meantime they continue to tour all over Western Canada. On the road, they are having a great time and hope to expand their horizons. NSR is definitely a band to watch out for!
