Members: Jordan Lake, Jesse Blackwell, Loren Carvalho, Jeremy Brooks
Amidst a scene of mediocrity, No Such Monster strives to rise above the conventional sound of the Saint Louis underground. Incorporating influences ranging everywhere from power violence to post rock, No Such Monster has pioneered a new sound, already spawning imitators.
Beginning in early 2002, drummer Loren Carvalho, bassist Jesse Blackwell, and guitarist Jordan Lake formed No Such Monster as an outlet to express their love of God, life, and music. Early songs produced a unique sound that drew crowds, but the band felt they were missing an element that couldn't be attained by simply writing new material. So, in early 2004 they added keyboardist Jeremy Brooks to the line-up to fully satisfy their sound. They've continued to evolve musically and perform with an intensity that is a force to be reckoned with in the underground scene.
