No, Really is the fledgling musical project of Hannah Clemens, a 22-year-old songwriter from Springfield, Missouri. Her Thousand Yard Stare EP is now available.

Hannah draws inspiration from sources as varied as U2, Beck, Cat Power, Bjork, Radiohead, and Eisley, among many others. Her songs blend minimalist, uncluttered instrumentation with emotionally-charged vocals and lyrics that often border on protest songs. "Floodplain," inspired by the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, blends a mournful blues melody with an outraged chorus, while the EP's title track is written through the eyes of a young person facing a reinstated draft and an increasingly Orwellian environment. Not all of Hannah's work is meant to be socially conscious, however - "Breathing On Another Planet" chronicles the end of a relationship from a different angle, while the narrator of "Return" discovers that dreams of fame and fortune can get in the way of the most important things in life.

With a rapidly growing schedule of performances at both the local and regional level, as well as a loyal following thanks to the Internet, Hannah is poised to gain a vital place in independent music and continue to develop her unique voice for years to come. Despite the tongue-in-cheek name she adopts, no listener will have trouble believing there are great things in this artist's future.
