There is such a thing as an excuse for noise, which is exactly how this band was created. Formed in early 2000, it began as a collaboration between Paul Barnes (drums/vocals) and Stephen Mlinarcik (guitar/vocals), who would meet every weekend and write some really, really, terrible songs. Of course, at the time, they believed that these songs would change the way the world looked at music. The two of them convinced two more people; Jonathan Schlea (guitar/bgv's) and Matt Kenyon (bass), to learn these monstrosities and perform them with them. Thankfully, none of them were ever recorded. Unfortunately, they still know how to play them.

Eventually, the foursome came to realize their songs were no good. So they embarked on a quest to write music and lyrics that were decent. Easier said than done. After many try-and-fail attempts,
Non-Toxic finally got the hang of it. Now they face the challenge of winning over everyone who still thinks they write terrible songs.

Armed with their newfound intelligent lyrics, thriving beats and bass lines, and some unique guitar work to boot, Non-Toxic has crafted a sound to be called their own. Drawing on their own personal inspirations, and forging those into their music, they present a sound that can be enjoyed by all.

This summer, Non-Toxic will be going into the studio to record their first full length album! It should be available before the end of the summer, so keep looking to the starboard side!
