We couldnt pick a better city or venue to end a tour on. I love the Showcase and all the kids that come to the shows there.
The show was packed!!! All the bands played amazing. Oblige and Sinai Beachs girlfriends/friends came out. It is neat to see your friends happy and in their environment. All of the other bands friends seem so supportive.
Our friend Lauren was at the show and it was her birthday. I am glad she could share it with us.
After the show, all the bands went to In and Out on Ontario to spend a few more moments together. I hate saying goodbye when tour is over, so I made mine short and sweet and went to the van. I do not handle ends very well and all the bands on this tour have been so cool. Nodes and Sinai have long history together and it was cool to be able to go out with them. I hope Oblige gets a break. They deserve it more than anyone. August Burns Red has a 20 hour drive ahead of them. Those kids are going nowhere but up. They get more popular with every day. I am glad we got to spend time with them.
The kids that come to our shows always make me feel so special. It is overwhelming at points. Talking to each kid and getting to know them every show is my favorite thing in the world. They have no idea how important they are to me. Each one will always be in my heart. No matter what I do with myself. No matter if I someday leave music and continue with the next stage of my life, I will never forget these kids, the bands we have toured with, & the times I have had being in a band.
Now we are on our 30 hour drive to SD, then another 6 hour drive to KS for me.

1/14/06 The Pinkeye Tulsa, OK
We played the Pinkeye in the past and it was really weird. Very small and not a very good building for shows. My contract said capacity was 700. With a capacity that large I was thinking maybe they had changed buildings. When we arrived at the venue I saw it was the same building we had played a year and a half ago. The inside had been changed around a bit but it was still pretty small. We had no idea what to expect from this show.
The show filled up really fast. There were 200 people in about a 100 capacity space. It was great, the crowd was amazing. The stage was so tiny. I had to set my microphone next to the drums (about 2 feet from my face). During the song The Dawning Age I whacked my eye on my mic. Instantly I could feel the warn blood streaming down my face. I could tell this wound was a lot bigger than the one I got last tour. So I played the set with a nauseous dizzy feeling. I had kids yelling you bled for Oklahoma!!! Once our set was done, I went into the bathroom and cleaned myself up. The gash bled for about 2 hours straight. I definitely need stitches. Ill have a nice scar to remember it by, thats for sure. Our friend Nikki came out and hung with us for awhile. She is a sweetheart. Sinai Beach, Oblige, and us all went to Dennys and ate. Its great when you can hang out with the bands you are on tour with. There is a brotherhood that starts to form between bands when you are on tour. I am a little too emotional for my own good sometimes. I get really sad when tours end and I have to say goodbye to the other bands we had spent weeks touring with.
With no place to stay, we got a room at the Comfort Inn.

1/13/06 The Door Dallas, TX
Its Friday the 13th!!! I am always excited about that. The Door is a gigantic venue. It reminds me of a bigger Showcase Theater (Corona).
The show was great. Lots of kids and all the bands sounded like a million dollars. There were a lot of sweet people there tonight. One kid (with an undying shirt on) told me I was his favorite bass player. That is such a compliment to get considering how many there are out there. These kids have such a way to make you feel so good about what you are doing. I cant possibly verbalize it.
We drove to Norman, Ok (home of the Starlight Mints) and stayed with a girl Nick knows.

1/8/06 Neckbeards Tempe, AZ
This was our 3rd time playing NBs and by far the best. It was amazing. So many beautiful people came out to see us and sing along. When we were done playing, we were all high with happiness from all the kids. These kids do not realize how important they are to this band. I am sure some kids think I am a little off my rocker because I like to hug our fans. I just need to express how much I love them
Our friends Lauren and Erica sent us a photo of a Nodes cake they baked for us. Seriously what fans do that? We are the luckiest band. Metallica eat your heart out.

12/7/05 The Syndicate Phili, PA
We actually made it to this show early. We have been running late a lot of shows, so it was nice to show up before doors. Once we go there we were a little taken back. The club must have been an underground garage of some sort. It has a garage door that goes down. Looks like it might have been a 6 car garage. Concrete walls/floors, no heat, and lots of spray paint. Not what we were expecting but the kids running it were really cool and hooked us up with red bulls, pizza, and water. They were all super cool.
We were all hanging out in the band room when Jon found a bottle of pepper spray (unknown to him it was pepper spray for grizzly bears). So wondering exactly what pepper spray smells like, Jon sprays a squirt on the wall before any of us have a chance to say NOOOOO. The stench hit our nostrils like a flame to paper. The room cleared out. I could tell the kids running the show were definitely not stoked. I grabbed my disinfectant spray from the van and tried to use that to knock out the smell. I think that made it worse. After about a half hour, the room smell mellowed out, and we could go back in. Not the smartest thing this band has ever done on tour.
Bobby, the promoter, bought us pizza and let us crash at his dorm. Great guy.
