Melodic Skapunk from the South of Germany
Charming songs that rock and live shows full of energy these are the trademarks of the Skapunk band No Authority from Lahr, Germany. Since 1996, the nine musicians have won more and more fans when supporting well-known bands such as Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish or Goldfinger and headlining Festivals in the South of Germany and in Switzerland.
In the beginning the members "No Authority" prefered fast and melodic Punkrock, but as more and more Ska elements began to influence their music, a horn section was added in 1997.
One can follow their musical development by listening to the first two albums "No Authority" (1999/Leech Records) and "Honk if you're horny!!" (2002/Leech Records). Their latest album "No hard and fast Rules" (2005/Leech Records) shows the direction in which No Authortiy is heading now.
Nice melodies, powerful riffs and frequent rhythm changes are characteristic for the style of No Authority. Because they have constantly developed their music, one should always be ready for surprises.
The songs of No Authority all differ in character: the different musicians combine Reggae, swinging Ska and aggressive Punkrock in various ways this has the effect, that the band does even attract a wider audience.
Their latest CD "No hard and fast Rules" is the first one which they recorded at Free Tone Studios in Lahr. That this was a good decision becomes immediately clear when one pays attention to the qualitiy of the recording.
This album, beyond all doubt, marks the musical climax of the bands history. The various songs feature melodies in two voices and funky horn parts they are very likely to give you goose bumps. Beyond all doubt.
