These are the official dates for the Ninjas W/ Syringes Spring 2008: "Snow Boarding Sucks Tour!" Thanks for everyone who made it to our send off show @ the Hawthorne Theatre via No Pants Entertainment last Saturday and for the awesome memories and big dicks. We'll keep you informed if anyone contracts Syphillis, drowns as we ford a river, or dies of Ammonia. If you missed us at our last shows, which we've had many of over the last month, we'll be back in action after tour and keep you informed of our upcoming Portland OR shows.
Be sure to send us (classy) nudes while we're on the road, so we never lose sight of hope! And we'll try not to write too many blogs filled w/ bitching and stupid pictures ... wait, we'll probably do most of that stuff.
Love,
Matt D.

Dreams have finally been realized w/the new recordings from Camp David (w/Dave from Robot Eyes) for my new upcoming solo LP: Clear and Present Danger. If this interests you, and you know who you are, then check out the 4 new songs:
Ninja Gaiden is Hard
Turnout
Useless
Days Away
Anyway, it's the first real recording I've done for my solo project Ninjas W/Syringes that dosen't sound like it was recorded in Satan's ass, i.e. Kyle's Bedroom. (thanx Kyle).
And I actually got to finish this time even if some of the songs are old ones that have finally come to fruition through a good the quality of recording they deserve. So in conclusion it rocks and should be listened to and critiqued by you the viewer. I'm so excited I'm not wearing pants, this is Clear and Present Danger.
Hopeully the Ninjas band can assemble so a show or two can be played and you can whitness the magesty live someday, but of course I'll let you know.

March 12
Well the 6 new drum tracks were recorded on March 11. 2006 for the new songs which are to be completed and they are as follows:
Turnout
*This Height
*Useless
*Song 1
Melisma II
and even 'Psuedo Girlfriend.'
*(Names subject to change)
Turnout will get put up as soon as it's finished including keys and a full mixdown, but for all if any who are interested, the record is coming along very well, and I've never been more pleased w/a recording. So I leave you w/yet another ramble and a promise that I will have new songs up w/vox and all the goodness of a record in the coming weeks. Matt out.

Hey all,
-Song 1 - This is only the demo version of this song w/out vocals. It was recorded on Feb 11th, 2006 at my friend Brenton and Sean's up and coming studio centered in Camas. All instruments were played by Matt D. Song 1 will be re-recorded from the ground up after more money is invested into the studio and I re-rehearse to get this song and the songs to follow to be as tight and technically stunning as possible. That's all the hot NWS news I have at the moment.

The Ninjas With Syringes Story,
First off, I spent alot of time not getting laid and playing instruments in my mom's basement ...
Flash forward 5 years.
I recorded my first 14 song album: "Perfectly Predictable Events Having Predictable Outcomes" w/my friend Kyle Bates in the summer of '04, except for the song 'Floors W/Balconies,' which was recorded earlier sometime in '03 w/producer Andrew Hewn. The songs and quality were lacking but I did it anyway, few were supportive.
Shortly after the completion of "Perfectly Predictable Events..." I began playing drums w/Travis Shoemake and Zack Barrer in the Portland based pop punk trio affectionatly known as Drawback (DB). We've been quite busy rehearsing and performing rock shows throughout the Portland area since we started, as well as a tour through California and all that other jazz that comes along w/being in a band. DB has long since served as a magnificent vehicle to write, record and perform high-energy punk music to kick people's asses. I write roughly half of the songs for DB and I couldn't have found 2 better friends to be in a band w/. I love it - so myspace Drawback and check it out.
That being said, the last 2 years have given me enough time and material to help approach a fresh perspective towards more a more experimental/electronica based stance and an inverse outlet as a songwriter. Plus, I just like to say 'electronica.'
This follow up EP will be about five or six well-produced songs. I've written a variety of differing material, vibing from abstract - to rock; and since my last release I hope to showcase only the very best and that which I find worthy of 'Ninja's' caliber, instead of the only songs I've written. I'm excited in effort to bend my artisitc bounds and bring these ideas to life in the studio which have been a life-time in the making. But in the end I just want to make music that will blow you away.
Matt D.
