Telekinesis—the moniker under which
Michael Benjamin Lerner has been releasing his eclectic blend of electro-fuzz and indie rock—is poised to make his return with a new album,
Dormarion.
Written in early 2012 with the intentions of self-producing the album's 12 tracks, Lerner instead found himself road-tripping to
Jim Eno's
Public Hi-Fi studio in Austin, TX, where he then recorded the effort in two weeks with the
Spoon drummer—whose production credits also include
Poliça and Mates of States, among others.
While the album is not due out until April 2, you can now stream first single "Ghosts and Creatures" courtesy of Merge. Album pre-orders are also on sale, and those who order from Merge will receive a limited edition flexi-disc demo of "Ghosts and Creatures" (while supplies last).
Check out the track and catch Telekinesis on tour this Spring, backed by Erik Walters of the Globes on guitar, Eric Elbogen of Say Hi on bass, and Rebecca Cole of Wild Flag and the Minders on keyboards.
