PureVolume's
new weekly charts reflect the site's most-played tunes over the course of the previous week. Every Monday morning, the new Week tab on our Top Songs page ranks artists by the most-played jams. Our champion chart-toppers from the week of Oct. 24-30 are:
1) Wayward: This Nevada four-piece
debuted their new self- and fan-funded EP
With Love and stormed to the top of our charts. A true DIY success story, the unsigned act's unspeakably slick record warranted repeat plays.
2) Mayday Parade: The much-loved pop-rockers swung by PureVolume for an interview and an
acoustic session. The resulting tracks, "Oh Well, Oh Well" and "When You See My Friends" were huge hits.
3) Paradise Fears: Still riding the success of the PV premiere of their "Stereo Hearts"
cover video, the pop-punk prodigies stocked up their profile with new tunes from their
Acoustic EP.
4)
The Ready Set: Embarking on one giant tour and preparing for another straight after, The Ready Set premiered a tour rehearsal
video and headlined a downloadable
tour sampler for their upcoming November jaunt. Oh, and of course there's the whole
ticket giveaway thing...
5)
Surfer Blood: These gents streamed their much-buzzed-about new EP
Tarot Classics, bringing a bit of indie glory to our chart. (And with a song called "Drinking Problem," who could refuse a listen?)
More interesting factoids from this week's chart:
▶Paradise Fears have charted in the Top 5 for the past two weeks.
▶Up-and-comers Good Luck Jane stuck around in the Top 10 for a second week, riding the success of their hot single "Walking on the Ceiling."
▶
Alkaline Trio popped into the Punk chart (dominated it, in fact, landing at No. 1), perhaps due to an influx of concerned fans worried about Matt Skiba's recent injury.
