In just a few years time,
Trevor Dahl—the brainchild behind acoustic/pop act
Plug In Stereo—has brought his success from internet sensation to indie darling to Atlantic Records signee. And before he shows off his latest work with a new full-length album later this year, he plans to offer fans a free four-track Acoustic EP, loaded with stripped down renditions of material off that same full-length.While the full EP won't be available until February 11, we've teamed up with our friends from
Alter The Press,
Property of Zack and
Buzznet to roll out one new song throughout the week, and we're kicking things off with today's premiere of "To Be Wanted."
"I had the line 'We all just want to be wanted' sitting in my phone for more than a year before I actually started writing it with my talented friends
Morgan Reid and
Sean Douglas. The line really spoke to me, but I didn't want to force it into a song, so I waited until it felt relevant to write about," Dahl says. "The verses are written specifically about two of my best friends, so it means a lot to me. This song is one of the most important songs I've ever written because I think every single person in the world can connect to it."Further exemplifying the track's significance to his life, Dahl has given these personal verses a thoughtful backdrop of delicate piano parts, heartfelt vocals, and a warm, dreamy tone. Enjoy the track's premiere right here, check out an additional three tracks on our friends' sites throughout the week, and don't forget The Acoustic EP will be available for free on Dahl's website beginning Monday, February 11.
