Irish punks Dropkick Murphys have built a legacy on rowdy anthems fueled by pint-guzzling camaraderie, and they're paying tribute to this with the 12 tracks presented on their latest effort, Signed and Sealed in Blood.
Album opener "The Boys Are Back" sets the tone for what's to come, offering up a larger-than-life chorus and the traditional mix of bagpipes and guitars. Tracks like "Jimmy Collins' Wake," and "Out Of Our Heads" continue in this fashion, while tracks like "Out On The Town" and "My Hero" stray just a bit towards straight punk tunes driven by a crashing blend of guitars and percussion. Appropriately, album closer "End of the Night" resounds like a group-led tribute to last call at the local pub, bringing the effort full-circle and closing it out with a rip-roaring hurrah.
