Long Island hardcore act Cipher are bracing together with the metal community in the wake of drummer Danny Bobis going missing in Indonesia, MetalSucks reports. Bobis, a school teacher in New York, was surfing on vacation with a friend and vanished in the sea.
“Danny had just taken a wave before me. I couldn’t see him, and a few minutes later, his board washed up on the shore," surfing partner Brian Lonergan, tells CNN. As the local Indonesian resources for a full-scare rescue search are limited, Bobis' family is paying for an expanded effort independently. To donate to the cause -- assisting with helicopter rentals, local searches, travel expenses -- the family asks generous folk to log in to PayPal and send money to firstname.lastname@example.org.
