Following the success of his Walk The Talk
and Winds Will Change
EPs, William Beckett
is getting ready to drop one more — What Will Be
. And while the EP's first single, "Stuck In Love," officially drops tomorrow, Beckett's treating PV'ers to an exclusive track premiere today. "I feel like 'Stuck in Love' was the perfect song to set the tone for the rest of the What Will Be
EP," Beckett told us. "The aggression and anger in the song is sweetly coupled with desperation and sincerity."
It's this blend of "aggression and anger" that works as the dominant force at play here. Despite the jazz-tinged piano plunks and spirited hand claps interspersed throughout, it's the guitar riffs, merciless percussion, and angst-ridden vocal parts that steal this tune's spotlight. And while the mentality of tortured love certainly aids in the song's overall aesthetic, Beckett also brought in another important reinforcement. "I thought having Ryan Ross' voice on the track helped accomplish that feeling [of aggression coupled with sincerity]. He's a pro. He came in, sang the parts, and we were out having drinks within the hour."
Spin the song's exclusive premiere right here, grab it via digital retailers tomorrow [October 2], and get ready for the What Will Be
EP to drop October 30.
