PBS's lauded Austin City Limits will be celebrating its 40th season this fall, and to celebrate, the iconic show is airing an hour-long broadcast with Nine Inch Nails on Saturday, April 5, with an encore being aired during the new season. The episode marks the band's television debut and will consist of a 10-song set spanning the band's impressive discography. We are excited to exclusively premiere a sneak peek of ACL's thoughtful interview with NIN's mastermind, Trent Reznor, as well as share clips of the band performing "Came Back Haunted" and "Sanctified" from the special. Watch the interview above and the performances below.
“We never thought we’d see the day when Nine Inch Nails would set foot on the ACL stage,” says Executive Producer Terry Lickona. “I mean, they never did television for 25 years! I came away from this show having the greatest respect for Trent Reznor. He’s one of the most focused, intense and creative artists I’ve ever worked with.”
The NIN episode of Austin City Limits airs on April 5 and will be made available online for a limited time on their official website. You can also watch web-only exclusive performances of "Satellite" on SPIN and "Survivalism" on Stereogum.
