This past spring, Thrice
set out on their final tour
route, packing in venues and delivering a setlist that paid tribute to their vast, ground-breaking discography. And while this farewell tour allowed devoted fans a bit of closure, their forthcoming Anthology live album
will act as a final statement in their storied legacy on the scene. The two-CD/four-LP album was culled from the band's live set at multiple stops during the farewell tour, and it will be released on October 30 via Staple Records. We're now excited to bring you an exclusive premiere of "Words In The Water," taken off the first disc of Anthology
While drummer Riley Breckenridge
promised in an earlier statement that “there are no overdubs, no edits and no pitch corrections..." on this compilation, in an effort to make it "an honest and accurate representation of a show from our Farewell Tour and a memento for our fans," this track exudes such tight instrumentation and impassioned energy, it wouldn't have needed refining in the first place. It's also a treat to hear the stirring of the crowd in the background, and take in the gorgeous natural acoustics the venue provided. Spin the song and watch an exclusive clip of Breckendrige discussing the song — taken from a forthcoming PV Video Q&A.
Anthology is available for pre-order, and will also be sold as a limited-edition box set, featuring a 24-page booklet along with two black LP’s and two white LP’s all on 180 gram vinyl. The first set of box set pre-orders have already sold out on the band's webstore, so make sure to secure yours when they hit Amazon soon.
