There's no denying it -- The Maine
had quite the year in 2011. They topped PureVolume's weekly charts
, had devoted fans battling it out in their "Some Days" cover contest
, and dropped their latest album
, to mass acclaim. To thank the fans for helping them achieve this level of success, John O'Callaghan wrote up a lengthy thank you note to express the band's gratitude. Check it out: The year 2011 has been one which will surely be etched in our brains for eternity. Thanks to you, our band was able to release our third full-length record. Hard to believe we've already released three of those suckers! Pioneer noiled down to tireless months of hard works, exhausting arguments, and a few tears along the way (not from me of course, I'm a man and men don't cry.) But we finally overcame and ultimately released it and I can't begin to explain how good it feels... I could honestly go on for another 2 hours or so, however I'd rather talk to you about it in person. Thank you so much for making these past five years the best days of my life. I am forever in your debt. Here's to another 5 years baby!"
We'll second that notion. To read the statement in full -- and believe us, there's much more to be read -- head over to Propery of Zack
