The Dig use a formerly abandoned building to their advantage in the quirky new video for "I Already Forgot Everything You Said." As bassist Emile Mosseri tells it, "We made this video in an old dilapidated building on 5 Beekman St. in Manhattan with our good friend Tyler Greco. We were the last people to shoot in this amazing old space before it was gutted and renovated and turned into a swanky hotel."
From its chipped walls and dirty floors to its haunting corridors and dimly lit interiors, the space provides the perfect backdrop to a concept that seems to gain inspiration from the ghosts of past love affairs. Here, distant parties and lovelorn flashbacks mingle with darkly-felt snapshots of a relationship lost to turmoil — creating an affect that's both fascinating in its oddity and chilling in its depiction. "The space has kind of a haunting quality to it and we felt like the mood of the song fit the vibe of the building," Mosseri continues. "We all wrote this song together as a band and feel it captures the tone of our new record."
