If you've never had the good fortune of seeing
the Devil Wears Prada in the flesh, their forthcoming live CD/DVD combo
Dead&Alive may just be the next best thing. To celebrate its June 26 release, they're giving you a first taste of the project with live audio track "Mammoth." From the roaring crowd to the glass-shattering instrumentals, it's a prime example of the work they do when they hit the stage, and a testament to the work that went into capturing the essence of these shows for
Dead&Alive.
As frontman Mike Hranica shared with us, "We put endless hours into
Dead&Alive, just as we did for
Dead Throne, and I think with both, "Mammoth" has always been something special for us. It's a song that encompasses a lot of range both sonically and lyrically, which has made it a standout track from
the band's
perspective."
And as far as the DVD goes, expect plenty of behind-the-scenes footage [shot and edited by guitarist/clean vocalist Jeremy DePoyster] to accompany all the live footage you can handle. Hranica continues, "We were excited for listeners to hear
the album back in September, and again, we look forward to fans checking out
the Dead&Alive CD/DVD."
