Romance on a Rocketship
bares it all with his new Acoustic EP
, featuring four stripped down renditions of previous fan-favorites and rare tracks. Beginning with the happy whistles and sunny acoustics of "Chin Up Buttercup" — Kasey's ode to his fans — and wrapping with the pretty and romantic holiday favorite "Hello Baby," these tunes pay tribute to quiet acoustics and lush melodies, striking piano and lovestruck lyrics. We also have a feeling fans will fall in love all over again with highlight track "A Million Kisses."
The EP officially drops today [September 25], so stream it in full right here and then go grab it via iTunes
. You can also hear exclusive stories behind all four tracks with Kasey's track-by track commentary, below. 1. "Chin Up Buttercup": The title of this song is a phrase I say to my fans a lot. If they are having a bad day, this is what I say to cheer them up. Since I can't be around all the time for all of them, I decided to make a song about it. I hope it can make some bad days better.
2. "A Million Kisses" (feat. Vivian Fabry): This song is about a boy offering everything he has to be with a girl forever. The girl assures him that all she wants and needs is his love. It was a fan favorite from the early days of ROAR. When I decided to release an acoustic EP, I thought it would be cool to re-record it for old time's sake.
3. "She Likes It": I wrote this song a really long time ago and recorded a rough demo. It was always one of my favorites, so I was excited to record a quality version of it for this EP. It's about all the little things that mean a lot in a relationship.
4. "Hello Baby": I released a winter/holiday EP for free for a little while last year. This song was on that and I feel like it really connected with my fans. Some of them still ask where they can get it, so I decided to throw it on this EP. I try to pay attention to what my fans want and don't want as much as possible. Without them, I can't do what I do.
